New Delhi: Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan are participating enthusiastically in the India Toy Fair 2021. The total number of registrations from KVS is approx. 3.5 lakhs.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the India Toy Fair on 27th February 2021. While inaugurating the Fair Prime Minister Said, there is so much strength hidden in the toy industry of our country. Increasing this strength and increasing its identity is a big part of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaign.
Three KendriyaVidyalayas from all over the country have been selected to display their Stalls in the Fair. KV JNU from Delhi Region, KV No. 1 AFS Gurugram and KV IIT Kanpur are displaying their unique toys in this fair.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the India Toy Fair (TITF) 2021, Shri Goyal said that Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi initiated this movement as a part of Aatmanirbhar Bharat to inculcate the true potential of toys and to develop the ecosystem of toys in India.The potential the toy industry holds to help our children evolve in their formative years was recognised by PM, he added. Secretary, Textiles and other senior officers of GoI and State Govts also attended the virtual closing ceremony.

IKEA to increase sourcing of toys from India
IKEA, which has participated in the India Toy Fair, is exploring opportunities to partner with several players in the toy segment, which is a big focus area for the company.

Swedish furniture major IKEA, which has a range of over 1,000 products as part of its children s range, is looking to scale up sourcing of toys from India for its operations here, a top company official said.
IKEA India also aims to have around 12 percent of sales from kids range of products in the coming years.
The company, which currently sources only cotton-based soft toys from India, is also exploring to expand in some other categories such as wooden toys, said IKEA India Country Commercial Manager Kavitha Rao.
