He is a midwesterner, but has worked in the south for many years. I cannot go through the long list of books he has produced. I was trying to characterize high i would describe his work as a wonderful historian of the western theater of the civil war, in my view, he has written the best overall book on the Petersburg Campaign ever produced. Onhas done work fortifications in the eastern theater, he has a fantastic book on the overview of the civil war in the west, it is a great book. And he has written several books on individual battles of the atlantic campaign. His most recent work, it came out just a few months ago, i highly recommend to you. It is a military biography.
