Like an earthquake. We worry about extending awss and cobenefit pipeline to the west side and putting in cisterns. We dont have this conversation around the park merceds. If we want to impose upon ourselves something that is more strings get than the state imposes upon us with the resulting impacts to surroundings Property Owners or future development, is there away we can model the risk and derm whether or not this is not worth our time and money and we should do what we continue to do which is cisterns and expansion of awss and new intake man folds on port property or something we will look back at when there is a huge fire that burns down half of district 11. We will say we were not concentrating on the wrong things or not enough things. I know you cant predict fire. Can you model fire out of the relatively small handfuls of the recand park. They have wasted the afternoon because you are not a problem. I am having a problem. University of california are great partners. Is there a wa
About him. That is ed lee. It was really mayor lee that had the vision that we felt so strongly about to work on the 12 middle schools. That was seven years ago and now we can see today here is this incredible manifestation of our middle schools getting rebooted and its in his memory that were doing this work. Lets remember him and lets say thank you as well to all of you for being here. Thank you for your support of our kids. Thank you to the kids also. So thank you guys for coming here. [ cheering and applause ]. One thing about doing this is the kids are always like, this is boring, when is it over . Its going to get worse before it gets better. [ laughter ]. I apologize. No, its okay . Youre interested in this . All right. All right. Then lets do it. Thank you, principal dunbar for welcoming us to this beautiful Presidio Middle School and to you and all the staff at presidio that make a difference for our kids. Thanks to our great partners and all of our leaders and great principal
These are the values that our mayor is committed to and has prioritized in her budget, which she will be signing here today. We are excited to continue partnering and working with the city to create opportunities and strengthen our support for all of our Diverse Communities all over San Francisco. Thank you all for being here today. [applause] thank you, michelle, and thank you for letting us use this amazing facility which serves so many young people and families across the Richmond District. Welcome to the richmond, but i know supervisor fewer is also anxious to welcome you here. This is an Incredible Community and i think that sometimes, when we are doing a lot of work in city hall, we forget about so many neighborhoods because we are right there in the middle and we are downtown, and of course, we are in d5 and other areas, and d6, but we dont make it to the west side of the city sometimes. We dont make it to the southeast sector of the city, so michael as mayor is to make sure tha
7 and a half million renovation is part of the clean and safe Neighbors Park Fund which was on the ballot four years ago and look at how that Public Investment has transformed our neighborhood. The playground is unique in that it serves a number of age groups, unlike many of the other properties, it serves small children with the childrens play grounds and clubhouses that has basketball courts, it has an outdoor soccer field and so there were a lot of people that came to the table that had their wish list and we did our best to make sure that we kind of divided up spaces and made sure that we kept the old features of the playground but we were able to enhance all of those features. The playground and the soccer field and the tennis fields and it is such a key part of this neighborhood. We want kids to be here. We want families to be here and we want people to have athletic opportunities. We are given a real responsibility to insure that the publics money is used appropriately and that
Virtually. Commissioner williams. [off mic]. Is your mic on . Here. Just one moment. Okay. Next on the agenda is the item 2 discussion if possible action to elect an interim president of the Building Inspection Commission. So we will take nominations. Im not sure if you know how to how would you like to handle that . Supposed to do nominations first . Yeah. Do you have the rules in front of you . Sorry deputy City Attorney rob kapla. I reviewed them recently but this is a situation with a band new that we dont have a normal situation. Its want the first feeting in february so the bylaws allow to select an interim president to preside over this meeting and the next until we have an officer election for president and Vice President on the agenda. Go ahead. So its my understanding that we should still follow the process of the regular election which is first allow for Public Comment. Second is to request nominations. I have a question how we do that. Is it fet bell cal or by raising hands
