Chilly spots to start with. Not everybody is seeing the milder temperatures this morning. South jersey, for example, parts of it have dropped into the 30s. Its 507 degrees in philadelphia, Lehigh Valley, just shy of 50 and that 50 in the pennsylvania suburbs, a couple areas, cooler. No sign of any cold. Phoenixville, 48 degrees right now. Bradford township is at 59 at this hour. 42 degrees in swarthmore. A cool start. Well see a quick warmup. The Lehigh Valley with clear skies, well see the temperatures come down a little bit more, 44 degrees at 7 00 and then look at that warmup. Up to 65 degrees in just three hours time. Thats a 21 degree increase. Thats impressive. This afternoon, well, the temperatures across the board are going to be warm. 80 degrees for delaware. The Lehigh Valley could hit 80
Bill . We havent hit 80 degrees yet but well see a big warmup today. The temperatures are starting off cool in some areas, 37 degrees, on the chilly side for south jersey. Thats a live view from south jersey, 37 degrees right now. But look at delaware. 46 degrees, will be warming up significantly during the day. And the pennsylvania suburbs right now at 50 degrees but we will see the temperatures climb steadily as the day goes on. After they come down a little more just after sunrise, 49 degrees, 10 00, 63 degrees in yardley. For philadelphia, starting off at 50 degrees and a good warmup, a fast warmup, 51 degrees at 6 00. Heavy rain combined with high temperatures and snow melt. Even the Schuylkill River might run a little bit high. The system thats going to give us all this is back by omaha and wichita pushing in towards saint louis over to the east you can see how weve got sun on the way in philadelphia and actually a pretty nice one. Were at 37 degrees right now in the city. Blow freezing up north in places like allentown and reading and out toward lancaster so maybe a little icy patch on the sidewalk up there and you could have an icy windshield to scrape in the i95 corridor. Over all it will be another mild pretty nice one today. Lots of sunshine, light winds. By 11 oclock were at 43. By 1 oclock 47 and well get a high of 50 today. Satellite shows that you were mainly clear, there is a little bit of a sweep of cloud cover trying to work its way up from washington into philadelphia but generally speaking it looks like a pretty bright morning once we get past sunrise. 20 degrees right now philadelphia, though. 15 in allentown, 15 in reading. 20 in millville and if you happen to be standing in the wind, which is running somewhere in the 10 to 15 Miles Per Hour range it makes it feel like its 7 degrees in philadelphia, so definitely bundle up with all that extra gear. A 6degree wind chill in allentown, three in reading six in wilmington, seven in trenton and 12 down the shore in wildwood. And we have an issue with some patchy black ice around the region as well this morning. Were especially concerned with parking lots, driveways and sidewalks but you might find some of this on roadways as well anywhere where yesterdays moisture didnt have a chance to dry out before the temperatures dropped below the freezing mark. 20
