Testimony in the sentencing phase of Amber Guygers murder trial resumes today. Yesterday guyger, a white expolice officer in dallas, was convicted of murdering an unarmed black man inside his own apartment. Guyger now faces possible life in prison. Laura podesta is in new york. Laura, is guyger expected to appeal this verdict . Reporter wendy, it has not formally been announced, but its likely she will appeal this murder conviction. Legal experts say a defense that could be used in that appeal is the Castle Doctrine. Similar to stand your ground, the Castle Doctrine says a person is justified in using deadly force if someone enters their home or their castle. The door. Meteorologist kari hall has been tracking what we can expect. Another cool day . A cool start. A bigger cooldown and compared to the hot weekend across the bay area, thats a live look in san jose as the sun comes up. We have a clear start headed to sunnyvale. Well stay in the 70s throughout early afternoon and it will be a little bit cooler than our normal high, so its nice to get a refreshing start to the work week. South bay temperatures reaching the low 80s, some of our inland east bay valleys reaching into the upper 80s and as with you get out the door this morning, it has already backed up at the bay bridge toll plaza. They turned the metering lights on earlier this morning so you can see the back yum. As we look at the maps, we are going to see the rest of the bay area flowing fairly good.
