Desmond White was all over the floor. White scored 34 points, brought down 16 rebounds and dished out nine assists to help the Helias Crusaders hold off a massive comeback for an 81-73 Central Missouri Activities Conference win Friday against the Capital City Cavaliers at Capital City High School.
The Fatima Comets were trying to hold the ball for the final 48 seconds of regulation Wednesday. At best, they were hoping for a buzzer-beating win. At worst, the game would go into overtime. Then Desmond White brought a new worst-case scenario into the picture for the Comets.
The Helias Crusaders played a great first quarter.
But in Thursday’s home opener against a talented Father Tolton team, the Crusaders were going to need four great quarters offensively.
