It was some good, followed by some not-so-good. The Helias Crusaders wrapped up play Saturday in the Missouri River Festival with a win against St. Charles West before falling to Union at Capital City High School. The Crusaders finished the two-day event with a record of 2-1.
After playing just three innings in more than a week, the Helias Crusaders were happy to be back on the field. They were even happier to get a victory. Helias didn’t show much rust Friday afternoon, opening the Missouri River Festival with a 10-6 victory against the Timberland Wolves at Southern Boone High School.
The Helias Crusaders had just one productive inning Wednesday. But it was very productive as the Crusaders scored eight runs in the bottom of the second on their way to a 9-2 victory against the St. Michael the Archangel Guardians at the American Legion Post 5 Sports Complex.
