Desmond White was all over the floor. White scored 34 points, brought down 16 rebounds and dished out nine assists to help the Helias Crusaders hold off a massive comeback for an 81-73 Central Missouri Activities Conference win Friday against the Capital City Cavaliers at Capital City High School.
The Capital City Cavaliers were quickly in an 8-0 deficit Thursday night. Then they stormed back in a hurry. The Cavaliers knocked down 11 3-pointers, catching up quickly to the California Pintos and then pulling past them for a 54-47 victory in the semifinals of the California Tournament.
The Capital City Cavaliers had plenty of quickness Monday night, but the Tulsa Union (Okla.) Redhawks had plenty of height.
“I thought our guys played as hard as they could,” Capital City coach Darrin Young said after the Cavaliers’ 67-31 first-round loss to the Redhawks in the Joe Machens Great 8 Classic at Fleming Fieldhouse.
