MANILA - Parts of the country will experience some rains on Saturday, brought by the shear line at the eastern section of central and southern Luzon and by the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan", in the northern portion and the rest of central Luzon. In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Caraga region brought by the easterlies. Aurora and Quezon will have cloudy skies with rains brought by the shear line, which is the convergence of northeasterly and easterly winds that form rain clouds. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over the Ilocos, Cordillera, and Cagayan Valley regions, as well as the rest of central Luzon, brought by the "amihan". Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers
MANILA- The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao, the weather bureau said Friday. "This LPA (was last tracked) around 900 kilometers east southeast of Mindanao. It has a slim chance to develop into a tropical cyclone, and also unlikely to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility," Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Benison Estareja said. The shear line affecting the eastern section of northern Luzon, on the other hand, will bring rains over Cagayan Valley and Aurora. Residents of these areas are advised to take precautions against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains. Meanwhile, Ilocos Region and Cordillera Administrative Region will have isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Moderate to strong

In its 4 a.m. bulletin on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to prevail over the Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao regions. Flash floods or landslides are likely in these areas during moderate to heavy rains. The bureau said even if the shear line has weakened, it may still cause light to moderate rains over Bicol and Eastern Visayas. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or "amihan" will bring light rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, and Aurora; and isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, the rest of the Cordillera region, and the rest of central Luzon. Metro Manila and the
(File photo) MANILA - Most parts of the country will continue to experience rains caused by two weather systems and the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA), the weather bureau said Wednesday. In its 4 a.m. weather advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Eastern Visayas, Bicol, Mimaropa, Caraga, and Davao regions, as well as the provinces of Aklan, Capiz, Quezon, and Aurora brought by the shear line affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon and the Visayas, and the trough of the LPA. Cagayan Valley will experience rains caused by the northeast monsoon or "amihan" affecting northern and central Luzon. Flash floods or landslides are likely during moderate to heavy rains, PAGASA said. In a separate bulletin issued at 2 a.m., the bureau said moderate to heavy, with at times intense rains will be experienced over Eastern Visayas and Sorsogon in the n
MANILA - Many areas in the country may experience rains due to two weather systems and a trough of a low pressure area (LPA), the weather bureau said on Tuesday. "The trough of LPA will not go near the Philippine Area of Responsibility, but will continue to bring rains over a huge part of Mindanao, Grace Castaneda of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. Castaneda added that there is no weather disturbance that may directly affect the country. The dominant weather systems are the shear line affecting the eastern section of the Visayas and the northeast monsoon affecting Luzon and the rest of the Visayas. These will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Davao Region, Caraga, Samar, Eastern Samar, and Northern Samar. Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region will also experience rains due to the northeast monsoon. Residents of these areas are advised to take precautions against possible flash floods or
