Bad air quality and what is ahead for us in the day. We have only seen a few lightning strikes over the bay area. Most of it has been to our east and some of it has been over the pacific but in terms of what we have seen, there are just a few and if we look live at the doppler, it is still raining in the north bay. This is actually good news because those are relatively light showers, just enough to dampen things up around the la yukon complex. There is a light rain through 101. Just to the north of healdsburg, there is a burn scar. It is good to see the light rainfall. We are not seeing any lightning being detected but it is still possible. We are not out of that threat yet. That red flag warning stays in effect until 5 00 this afternoon and if we watch the future cast from where the showers are now, they keep going. We will keep seeing showers until 10 00 this morning in the north bay and some of those could still develop an isolated strike of lightning or provide some gusty downdraf
On the firefight from cal fire in just a few minutes, but this is what we know right now. Overnight, the fog and cooler temps did help firefighters make progress. The fire only burned another couple thousand acres overnight and stands at 79,000 acres and containment up slightly at 17 . We start with the scu complex fire raging across five separate counties, including santa clara, alameda and contra costa counties. 3363 acres burned. 15 contained. 20,000 homes threatened. The lnu fire is the deadliest of the three. Sadly, five people have died.
