The problem is, is that when they decide, its a decision they make to stay, it endangers us because its our duty to protect lives and property. So it creates anxiety for us. Reporter these firefighters they are prepared to put it on the line. Keep in mind they have been out here more than two weeks. And, you know, they are pretty exhausted. They are working 12 hours at a time in some cases 24 hours at a time. Then 24 hours off. They are still at it. This fire continues to grow. Its going over some of the major roads and approaching some of the areas that in this area we were told this was a safe zone. The fire doesnt care. Its still moving in. And, you know, for those folks who are still in there, in these homes, they are putting these firefighters at risk to some degree but so far, none of the homes have caught fire. This all started as a peaceful protest, but then things spiraled out of control in the past hour. This is what it look like a short time ago at 980 in oakland. Gridlock. Chp was nowhere to be seen for some time, it wasnt until 20 minutes later we saw officers roll up at 10 20 tonight. Once chp got there, they got creative to clear the log jam. We saw them telling cars to drive the wrong direction to get out. This protest followed a Police Shooting that left a suspect dead. Christin ayers has that part of our story. A longstanding name in Houston home building is going away.
TRI Pointe Homes, which builds under the Trendmaker Homes name in Texas, says it s consolidating its six regional homebuilders under the TRI Pointe Homes brand.
The publicly traded company changed its name from TRI Pointe Group, effective Jan. 15. Joe Mandola continues to head the builder s operations in Houston as president of TRI Pointe Homes Houston.
