NFL schedule 2021: Release date and time are set for 17-game slate (UPDATE)

Get ready to mark your calendar, football fans, because we now know when the 2021 NFL schedule will be released. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
NFL is now slated to release its full 2021 regular-season schedule on Wednesday, May 12, per sources. It’s the date to get more dates.
Following Schefter’s report, the NFL confirmed “the 2021 NFL Schedule powered by AWS will be released on NFL Network, NFL.com and the NFL app on Wednesday, May 12 at 8:00 PM ET.”

The 2021 season will feature 17 regular-season games and three preseason games. NFL owners approved the schedule change last month.

It’s an annual tradition at this point for experts to take cracks at Giants general manager Dave Gettleman for his aversion to trade-backs in the NFL Draft.
That discussion came roaring back on social media recently when Warren Sharp pointed out that Gettleman has made 55 total picks as a general manager and never traded back a single time, even beyond the first round.

But they’re also in a good spot with the 11th pick.
The recent history at that spot from J.J. Watt in 2011 to Mekhi Becton in 2020 is promising, and it makes sense: Quarterbacks often hog the top 10, pushing non-quarterbacks down in the order. That’s the ideal scenario for a team that doesn’t plan to draft a quarterback.

The 2021 NFL Draft begins in eight days in Cleveland, Ohio. Between now and then, the rumors will be flying, especially with respect to who will be looking to trade up into the top 10 and who will be looking to trade back and stockpile picks.
Cowboys getting calls for No. 10 pick
The Dallas Cowboys are sitting on the No. 10 pick overall. Per Pro Football Talk:
