Laidley man caught driving 5x legal limit getting nappies

Premium Content Subscriber only A Laidley man who drove five times over the legal alcohol limit to buy nappies has been told his repeat offence would be the last before a prison sentence. Mark Alexander Aaron Blasdall was caught driving in Laidley on November 28 not only for drunk driving, but also driving without a licence due to a court disqualification. In the Gatton Magistrates Court on Monday, February 22, police prosecutor senior sergeant Al Windsor said police intercepted Blasdall driving on Cunningham Ave, Laidley. After conducting an RBT on, on November 28, 2020, police conveyed Blasdall to the Laidley Police Station where he submitted a specimen of breath for analysis.

Maccas assault: Woman appears from jail after throwing drink

Premium Content Subscriber only A Gatton woman has appeared in court from her prison cell after she assaulted two people at a local McDonald s. Cherise Jean Ellis pleaded guilty from behind bars on Monday, February 22, to two charges of common assault. Police prosecutor senior sergeant Al Windsor said that on October 3, 2020, Ellis walked into Gatton McDonald s at Spencer Street and placed an order that included a drink. One of the assault victims was also placing an order when there was an interaction between the pair, senior sergeant Windsor said. The court was told the second victim then stepped into a verbal altercation between the two before Ellis threw her drink that landed on both victims.

IN COURT DOCK: Forest Hill man surrenders to police

Premium Content Subscriber only A Forest Hill man has appeared in court in custody after he surrendered himself to police on Monday. Luke Ljubinko Pascoe, 25, pleaded guilty in the Gatton Magistrates Court from the dock after he turned himself into the Gatton Police Station on Monday, February 23. The local bricklayer appeared in court with one charge - driving while over the general alcohol limit but not over the middle alcohol limit. Police prosecutor senior sergeant Al Windsor said Pascoe was intercepted by police at 8.55am on January 17, on Melaleuca Drive, Laidley, where he was asked to conduct an RBT. As a result of the reading he was taken to the Laidley Police Station where he provided a specimen of breath for analysis - that returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.060.
