Dog squad sniffs out police evader

Going before Ipswich Magistrates Court for sentence, Aiden Michael Kinnane, 28, pleaded guilty to nine charges with eight of them occurring on February 11 this year. The charges include failing to stop for police; evading police; driving when drug positive; dangerous operation of a motor vehicle when adversely affected; obstruct police; trespass; and two counts of driving when disqualified. Kinnane appeared from jail via video-link having spent 91 days in custody since his arrest.

Premium Content Subscriber only A MUM busted for drug offences walked from an Ipswich courtroom after receiving a strong word of warning from the magistrate. Mother of two Rebecca Neville was caught with the drug ice secreted under her bedroom pillow when police raided her caravan in the yard of her mother s Munruben home. Ipswich Magistrates Court this week heard she had previous history for drug offending. Rebecca Adel Neville, 36, from Redbank, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of methylamphetamine at Munruben on July 11 last year; unlawful possession of cannabis; possession of drug utensils including used smoking pipes; possession of anything used in a drug crime; and failing to attend court in Beenleigh.

Maccas assault: Woman appears from jail after throwing drink

Premium Content Subscriber only A Gatton woman has appeared in court from her prison cell after she assaulted two people at a local McDonald s. Cherise Jean Ellis pleaded guilty from behind bars on Monday, February 22, to two charges of common assault. Police prosecutor senior sergeant Al Windsor said that on October 3, 2020, Ellis walked into Gatton McDonald s at Spencer Street and placed an order that included a drink. One of the assault victims was also placing an order when there was an interaction between the pair, senior sergeant Windsor said. The court was told the second victim then stepped into a verbal altercation between the two before Ellis threw her drink that landed on both victims.
