ONGC has made significant natural gas discoveries in the Mahanadi basin, yielding results in its high-risk deep water exploration. The discoveries were made in the MN-DWHP-2018/1 block, previously classified as a no-go area due to national security interests. The first discovery, Uktal, flowed over 3 lakh cubic metres per day of gas during initial testing.
