To my wife pam, Lieutenant Governor fairfax, a attorney general hearing, justices of the Supreme Court, newly elected members, old friends of my cabinet and staff, thank you all for your service to our commonwealth. [laughter] you know its a proud moment to look out and see General Assembly that reflects more with the virginia we see every day. Pplause] this is truly an historic night. Just one week ago, we closed a decade that sometimes challenged our fundamental beliefs. And even made us question what it means to live in a changing america. So tonight, let us recall some basic facts. Because we have a lot to be thankful

Were still waiting on Oakland Police to release the name of the victim. Opd, oakland officers are going to bring up a message about Public Safety later this month at a meeting. Police say the person in these photos was driving a white pickup when he hit an 85yearold man. The driver got out of the pickup briefly and then drove away. Police found the truck abandoned. The driver wro the victim has been treated at the hospital and released. A suit filed against the diocese alleges a jesuit brother sexually assaulted a student. Brother William Farrington allegedly assaulted a man when he was 13. The victim is able
Suspected abuse. Childhood sexual abuse survivor joel castaics fought to get the new law on the books. I was sexually abused at a high school in Southern California, a catholic high school, and the school knew i was being abused at the time of the abuse, but chose to cover it up as opposed to protecting me. Reporter this is not the first charge against brother farrington. He was removed from ministry in 2002 after he was accused of sexual abuse by at least six people. Farrington is now 78 and lives here at sacred heart in los gatos. We went to the center today but were unable to reach him. We also reached out to the diocese of san jose, but received no response. The jesuit West Province issued this statement saying on december 7th, 2018, jesuits West Province released its list of jesuits with credible allegations of sexual abuse of a minor. Brother William Farrington was named on that list. We did so because we hope that active accountability will help victims and their families in the

While i was not able to attend i want to think president yee, supervisor mandelman for honoring the victims and families of those killed and injured by these avoidable crashes and for shining a light on the need to reduce speeding. So far, this year, in 201926 people have died in traffic collisions in contrast to the 23 fatalities in all of 2018. Of this years total, 15 People Killed were pedestrians and one was a cyclist. Almost 600 people have been injured in 2019. Our work to deliver vision zero quick work projects more expensively and quickly throughout the city continues and thankfully we will be aided by our collective efforts to get crop d passed earlier this month. The very first surcharge in the state of health when he will bring in an estimated 32 35 million annually to fund Critical Infrastructure investments li
