[ inaudible ] 6:01 on this tuesday. a cold morning where you don t want to move. we thank you for joining us i m kristen sze. i m eric thomas. you gotta move to keep warm it is bone-chilling out there and still sinking. bay area temperatures dipping into record territory bringing extreme danger to a lot of people. amy hollyfield is live in at a shelter. reporter: the unusual thing is, it is still full this morning. they usually clear people out at five in the morning, they didn t have the heart to do that today. it is so cold they are going x 8 a.m.. they have 140 spots, all were taken last night. it is a safety and comfort issue. it is freezing all around the bay area in the 20s and 30s all across the bay. some of the regulars here at the shelter say,thó even when it this cold not everyone comes inside. i know some people they are just going to stay in the park, because they don t feel comfortable. some people have been robbed. it is a hard place to be in. if you

bodies from the wreckage, bringing the death toll to 11. terry mcsweeney is here with the latest developments. reporter: disturbing information about the captain of the costa concordia as well as new images painting a picture of terror off the coast of italy. we have infrared images. passengers scrambling to escape the ship. forming a human chain to reach lifeboats that were in short supply as many as the 4200 passengers tried to escape. this morning divers were blowing holes in the cruise ship to gain entry with the hope of finding survivors. all they found are five more bodies. underwater video shows amazing images of the damage sustained when the ship slammed into the rocks. people pushing and pushinging, people passing out, people were hysterical. reporter: among the missing two americans a couple from minnesota. now the recording of a conversation between the coast guard and the ship s captain, who was reluctant to go back on his ship. the coast guard says to the c

students deal with the arrest of their teacher. the community at granada high in livermore is having a tough time thinking of marie johnson as accused sex offender when yesterday she was miss j the math teacher. i m really shocked she was a very nice lady. she really showed us she cares for the kids. to this moment i think it is not true. i hope it is not true. reporter: 40-year-old johnson faces 24 charles of sex with wall assault. the wife and mother is an accused of having sex with a 14-year-old boy from december to may of last year. the principal called police when a student came forward and told adult about the possible crime. the whole community is reeling. our goal is to get through it together. reporter: police say johnson had the boy in class and corresponded through facebook, tess messages and words with friends. officials are trying to navigate through newóxé÷m frontr of social media and teacher-student relationships. we certainly want connections,
