And just in the last hour, the contentious Battle For The White House came to a close. Donald trump is the partys presumptive nominee. It comes as former u. N. Ambassador nikki haley suspended her president ial bid just this morning after trump dominated on Super Tuesday. It is now up to donald trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him. And i hope he does that. At its best, politics is about bringing people into your cause, not turning them away. And our conservative cause badly needs more people. This is now his time for choosing. Haley ended her Historic Campaign as the first woman in republican primary contest in the gops history. But she only managed to win two races, vermont and washington, d. C. , after failing to bid a coalition large enough to overcome Donald Trumps massiv
Donald trump now has 1057 delegates, that is roughly 11 for every criminal charge he is facing. He is now about 150 delegates away that is a better ratio i think than i expected. From the republican nomination. Vermont denied trump a sweep where nikki haley won with just over 50 of the votes. I love vermont. You got to be looking at vermont and American Samoa if you want to know where the race is going. And i dont understand it. Well be talking to John Heilemann later on. He will explain. On the democratic side, President Biden cruising toward his partys nomination with high stakes state of the Union Address taking place tomorrow on capitol hill. But biden did have his first 2024 loss last night with entrepreneur jay c. Palmer winning the Caucus In American A Me a. Fewer than 100 ballots were cast in that contest. Nominee. How it could influence the race to replace the republican leader. And the record busting billions that president ial campaigns will pour into buying a mountain of negative ads. Can all that money buy a winning message or is it just so much white noise . Msnbc chief political analyst chuck todd will join me to talk about that, and why it may takes weeks to get an answer. If youve been away all day, pay attention. Im a little more worried because with that move to the north, we could now see 7 to 9 inches of rain in the sand hills with winds 40 to 50 miles an hour. Thats enough to cause problems with trees and Power Outages and of course, just getting around with minor flooding. That has me more concerned. Through most of central North Carolina, we are talking 40mileanhour winds. That could cause isolated problems, not widespread. A little less as you head farther to the northwest, and up in warren county, 2 to 4 inches with 20 to 30milean hour winds. Thats all tomorrow. No big problems today. Just under an hour ago the governor warned we could see the worst flooding since hurricane floyd and president obama declared a state of emergency for 66 counties. Reporter th
Thinking of as ron was asking you to imagine some of the challenges is the fact that this executive action does not do a lot of things. One of the things it doesnt do is provide eligibility for health care, for example, for people who are eligible overall. When you have people who are still going without Health Insurance, that becomes more of a challenge and an issue for your communities. Im wondering what the possible ways of addressing that might be and whether that does, indeed, pose a challenge in terms of resources. Again, i think the answer to that, unfortunately, does not lie in cities. We just dont have the authority or the power to solve the problem. We just have the responsibility to deal with the problem. And thats the tough part. In a city like aurora, weve got three major hospitals weve got another one coming on line shortly i hope its a va hospital, you never know. But well find ways through the nonprofit community, through the Faithbased Community through our own program
