As of 3:30 p.m. the fire is at a quarter acre and is being contained between the 14 Freeway and a wall, according to Fire officials. Around 7:40 p.m. Tuesday first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the northbound 14 Freeway near Santiago Road in Acton, said Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “It came in as a motorcycle down,” Lopez said. For reasons still under investigation, the motorcyclist veered to the left and collided with a metal guardrail, said Officer Monique Mischeaux, spokesperson for the Antelope Valley Area CHP Office. The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and sustained fatal injuries, according to officials.

Canyon Country Kidnapping Suspect Returns To Court A Canyon Country kidnapping suspect appeared in court Tuesday for a restitution hearing for damages incurred when he carjacked his ex-girlfriend and took her vehicle while their 3-month-old twins were inside, officials said. James O’Neal, 26, was arrested in July 2020 on several different felony charges including carjacking, domestic violence, child abduction without right and false imprisonment, officials said. O’Neal pleaded no contest to the charges laid against him on Jan. 8, and was sentenced to three years in prison, according to Ricardo Santiago, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
