Afternoon, in the 50s and looking ahead into what ill tap into, in my big report in 15 minutes is the next big storm. Here is a look so far at what were tracking, valleys and mountain areas, several inches of additional rainfall compared to the last storm but its the gusty winds and the risk of potential flooding especially for all those burn zones, after the kincade fire that we will be monitoring very, very closely, so i will make sure to take you through this time line as far as how much rain, where the strongest winds will be and also the very important sierra travel. A lot of people are traveling back from thanksgiving, something i will be covering for you in about 15 minutes. Lets check the roads and see how thats doing. Everything was looking good and i did notice two accidents one up near 880. It it may be something along the bay bridge. Ill check the chp reports on that, hopefully nothing major. Any time something happens on the bay bridge we monitor that. Ill be back with ano
Valencia has been a constantly evolving roadway. The first bike lanes were striped in 1999, and today is the major north and south bike route from the Mission Neighborhood extending from market to mission street. It is difficult to navigate lindsay on a daily basis, and more specifically, during the morning and evening commute hours. From 2012 to 2016, there were 260 collisions on valencia and 46 of those were between vehicles and bikes. The mayor shows great leadership and she knew of the long history of collisions and the real necessity for safety improvements on the streets, so she actually directed m. T. A. To put a pilot of protected bike lanes from market to 15th on valencia street within four months time. [ ] valencia is one of the most used north south bike routes in San Francisco. It has over 2100 cyclists on an average weekday. We promote bicycles for everyday transportation of the coalition. Valencia is our mission fits our mission perfectly. Our members fall 20 years ago to
Would be completed. Those residents were transferred over to General Hospital and building the new trauma center, so after that was nearing completion, those workers were ideally going to move right over to van ness gary, and there was about a year hold up. A lot of the residence, apprentices and even in the office workers, even had to go somewhere else and work for that year, and then be transferred over later. They were a hiccup or two on the front end of the project starting on times on time, and that threw a wrench in moving people from hospital to hospital, but let me also say this is a very important sector in our city. The Healthcare Industry when it is not there, you notice. And sometimes certain things can be taken for granted. We typically see commercial buildings, residential, retail, and hospitals are a completely different type of building. They are so much more complex, they are so much more technical. We are not just installing simple every day features, theres different
Commission will allow us, you as supervisors, will allow us to continue to protect the families that we are responsible for. Thank you. Any other members of the public that wish to speak on this item . Seeing then. Public comment is closed. I would like to thank all of the Community Advocates on the Community Members for sharing your perspective and highlighting the very important, and continuing need to protect Civil Liberties and the rights of the Muslim Community and immigrant communities here in the city. I did want to add that in getting briefed on this issue, you know, i did learn in 2017, the f. B. I. Shared a white paper with travertine chief scott which provides f. B. I. Perspective on the impact of San Franciscos law and policies on sfpds prior and potential participation in the joint terrorist task force. The very topic of this hearing. I understand that the f. B. I. s position is that the white paper can only be released through a public foia request and there is pending li
Its just now reinforced by state law or state code. The threepart test is broken down here. The worker is free from company control. And the second is that any person that is performing work that is outside of the usual course of the hiring entity. And the third part is that the person is putting themselves out in a market and offering their services to other than to the hiring entity that they test, like, do they advertise for their services. And do they are they truly an independent business and are they more directly an employee of that company. So workers are considered to be employees unless they fail this test. And unless all of these conditions apply. And put a caveat there that as a. B. 5 was working towards the Legislature Many exemptions were added to the bill. Gig workers were explicitly not exempted and as we said explicitly many times unless theyre targeting this particular sector. So that brings us to enforcement which is a little bit less clear. There are basically four
