To provide on going and stable support and historically we have been very hezitants to cut fund toog groups when they havent done anything wrong. [inaudible] are responsible for serving a vast majority of the audience members that go out to performing arts events and in addition theythose 3 organizations over the past 30 years have raised themselves hundreds of millions of dollars to make Capital Improvements on the [inaudible] moore mooreial and city hall which are city assets. Not only have they invested that degree of money in city assuts, but on top of that pay rent to the the sate and a share of concession sales for all those reasons we feel their funding is justified, however your point regarding the size of the grant in comparison to the others is well taken, but that is just a little of what dpoes into our thinking of maintaining those grants. Wong is being set up i know our City Attorney probably has advice for us about Hotel Tax Fund resources and how the city allocates those resources and im wondering if mr. [inaudible] could give a comment about that sure. [inaudible] the office advised the board a cual years ago about various law suits involving the hotel tax. The specific answer for arts funding is the hotel tax isnt specifically allocated for arts funding. That funding comes from the general fund and as howard mentioned the amount of the fundsing is a discretionary decision for the board and mayor. Mr. Chair, through the chair i wanted to add to that because it really bothers when this issue comes up consistently as it relates to these grants, but this wasnt a issue when we talked about lgbt housing and how we be creative and provide housing to seniors at 55 laguna street. We make accommodation when we want, but hide behind 209 when we have the hard conversations about race and equity and other things.
