William Campbell knows a lot about tanks. He has volunteered with museums on Fort Jackson and most recently the South Carolina National Guard Museum where he helped restore tracked vehicles. His volunteer work would bring him in close contact with the tanks outside the Basic Combat Training Museum on post.
Post inducts five into Hall of Fame

Fort Jackson inducted five into its Hall of Fame in a ceremony held April 22 at the NCO Club. The inductees made up the combined 2020-2021 HOF class.
The post’s hall of fame was established to “recognize and honor persons who have made an indelible mark on the Fort Jackson community.”
Each inductee will be included on the Hall of Fame Wall in the post headquarters.
The photos on the wall won’t be enough for the post to thank them, said Fort Jackson Commander Brig. Gen. Milford H. “Beags” Beagle Jr. It won’t be enough to pay a bill for everything that you’ve done every single year. But know that we greatly appreciate the fact that you ve continually given, that you continue to sacrifice, and your selflessness is beyond reproach. My hope is that today comes close.”

NEW JERSEY An Army trainee from New Jersey has been charged after hijacking a school bus packed with children in South Carolina on Thursday, authorities said. A video was released that authorities say captures the incident

Jovan Collazo, 23, has been charged with 19 counts of kidnapping, armed robbery, carjacking among other changes, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said during a news conference.
Bayonet brigade welcomes new CSM

“Changes of responsibility give us a chance to recognize the accomplishments of not only the individual but also of the organization,” said Col. Mark Huhtanen, 193rd Infantry Brigade commander, during his unit’s change of responsibility ceremony May 3. “While we are sad to see those that have made such an impact on our organizations go, it does allow us to reflect and set goals for the future.”
Huhtanen presided over the ceremony held on Victory Field, where Command Sgt. Maj. Travis Wirth assumed responsibility for the brigade from Command Sgt. Maj. Raymond Butler.
