He was a songwriter and a poet and a helicopter pilot and a hero and ultimately a casualty of the vietnam war. Susan how did you encounter his poetry . David i first read a book by harold evans. There was a section of the vietnam war in that section theres a small photograph of Michael Odonnell. And it said that young man wrote this poem, the poem i just said. And below that, shortly after writing this short poem, his helicopter was shot down and he remains missing in action. That book was published about 20 years ago. And at t
