It was mainly a peaceful protest last night with hundreds of people in downtown oakland. But some of the crowd set fires and smashed the windows of several businesses. At the courthouse, the glass doors were shattered and a fire was set inside. Around 11 00 last night some of the protesters walked down the off ramp of grand avenue to interstate 580 and temporarily stopped freeway traffic. Oakland police say several people were arrested.
