Forecasted highs should be a little bit warmer than yesterday. Temperatures should rebound by a few degrees. Reporter hundreds of people marched through downtown oakland and broadway last night. Protesters gathered in support of the black live smatter movement and called for justice for jacob blake. The march started around 7 30 am. The demonstration was passionate but peaceful for the first two and half hours. They marched to the Police Department where they were met by police and barricades surrounding the Oakland Police headquarters. Violators will be subject to arrest. Reporter shortly after this there were acts of vandalism. Agitators and the crowd put out the fire and prevented further damage according to police, but businesses had windows shattered and the Uptown Neighborhood by 11 00 last night. But close to the bart station as there were reports of numerous fires on downtown streets. One group of people set fire to the outside entrance of the Alameda County courthouse near lake merritt. The fire was put out with no visible damage to the inside of the building but the glass doors were shattered. Protesters stopped traffic on interstate 580, on tv grand of a new offramp, some people threw objects at them, clearing protesters off the freeway. In wisconsin, police announced the arrest of a 17 yearold on suspicion of murder, two people were shot and killed during protests in kenosha. It was captured on the cell phone video, the suspect identified is a Kyle Rittenhouse, firing his weapon several times. Then he walks away in the middle of the street. His hands were in the air, towards the police. Still holding the rifle. He was among groups of heavily armed civilians and kenosha who claimed that they were protecting businesses from protesters. A 17yearold individual from antioch was involved in the use of firearms to resolve whatever conflict was in place. The result of it was two people are dead. This is not a police action. Two People Killed were identified as a 26yearold and a 36yearold. The Investigation Continues into the shooting of 29year old jacob blake. He was shot seven times and is paralyzed from the waist down. The Wisconsin Department of justice identified the Police Officer who shot blake. He is officer Rusten Sheskey, a veteran of the police force. They were responding to a domestic dispute. Mr. Around his vehicle, opened the driver side door, and leaned forward. While holding onto mr. Blakes shirt, officer Rusten Sheskey fired his Service Weapon seven times. President ial candidate joe biden and his running mate senator, harris spoke to the blake family yesterday. Joe biden then released a videotape statement after being criticized by republicans for not speaking out about the increasing violence around the country. We are hearing from the Helicopter Team that rescued firefighters that were trapped by the fire in west marin last weekend, but pilot paul bradley and technical flight officer chris haas are part of the Sonoma County Sheriffs Office helicopter unit. They modify the earlier recommend patient that anyone that has been within 6 feet of an infected person for 15 minutes or longer be tested. The cdc says that people that do not have symptoms dont need testing. Local researchers say that the policy goes against good science. It is not a good idea. I dont think it is a good idea. Is entirely bizarre, in the fact that it undercuts our very basic tenants of how we control and infectious disease. The department of health and Human Services managing the cdc says the changes come after a meeting with the white house. They did not say why the changes happening. Critics say the changes are particularly alarming because the cdc has said all along that 40 percent of people that contract for coronavirus do not show any symptoms. 100 School Districts have been given waivers to resume in class instruction. A majority of these are private schools. That is according to a list from the state health department. Of the 109 waivers that were granted, only two are here in the bay area. They are morlan school district, and sunnyvale christian school. Both are in Santa Clara County. Schools and School Districts that are allowed to reopen must be located in a county that has been off the states watchlist for 14 days. Hurricane laura reaches the gulf coast, the national Hurricane Center warrants of a nonsurvivable storm surge. It could be as high as 20 feet and reach up to 40 miles and then. Surge combined with ferocious winds and massive waves are expecting to cause catastrophic damage and can even submerge entire towns. Flooded streets, downed trees and wires. Debris and the roadways. Power outages. Those are the things that we will have to wrestle with. The water levels are rising from galveston, to mobile bay. It is just the beginning. Floodwaters and some areas are not expected to reseed until several days after the storm. Half 1 Million People have been told to leave their homes, and most people have listened to those orders. At the top of been lemon mountain above santa cruz, overlooking a smoky boulder creek, highs crest ranch, one of the oldest Christmas Tree farms on the west coast.
