A visually impaired man, Mr Babatunde Kareem, has been admitted to the Aljazira Hospital Igoba, Akure to nurse a life-threatening injury he sustained when he went to the Ondo State Government Secretariat to secure a job. Court Orders Ondo State Government To Pay N30million Damages To Amputated Commercial Motorcyclist Shot By Amotekun Officials

An Ondo State High Court has ordered the state government to pay the sum of N30million as compensation to a commercial motorcyclist identified as Oluwasegun Oluwarotimi who lost his leg to a gunshot injury inflicted on by the officers of the state’s security network agency code-named Amotekun. Justice Adejumo held that the treatment meted on the applicant amounted to a violation of his right to dignity and awarded the sum as damages. Oluwasegun was working when operatives of Amotekun Corps made his life miserable on August 9, 2021.

A man, identified as Oluwasegun Olayinka Oluwarotimi, has narrated how operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun, abandoned him at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo after one of them shot him in the leg. The incident occurred in the Araromi area of Akure, the Ondo State capital. This was stated in a letter of complaint written by the victim’s lawyer, Tope Temokun Esq, to the security operatives.
