An Ondo State High Court has ordered the state government to pay the sum of N30million as compensation to a commercial motorcyclist identified as Oluwasegun Oluwarotimi who lost his leg to a gunshot injury inflicted on by the officers of the state’s security network agency code-named Amotekun. Justice Adejumo held that the treatment meted on the applicant amounted to a violation of his right to dignity and awarded the sum as damages. Oluwasegun was working when operatives of Amotekun Corps made his life miserable on August 9, 2021.
The retired workers of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, under the aegis of Railway Senior Citizens Association Eastern District, Enugu on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest in Enugu against the illegal sale of Railway Quarter premises. According to the retirees, this is in violation of a subsisting court judgment.
