As of 6 a.m. March 1, the Michigan Department of Transportation imposed weight restrictions that will be enforced on all state trunkline highways in an annual effort to protect the state’s roads.
The current areas affected are from the Michigan border north to M-20 through Oceana, Mecosta, and Midland counties, to US-10 and M-25 in Bay City. This includes the entirety of the Thumb region as well.

REMUS Michigan State Police are looking for the public s help in locating Richard Lee Wymer, a 70 year-old Remus man who was last seen Sunday morning.
Wymer was last seen Sunday shoveling his driveway in the 7000 block of 10th Avenue in Wheatland Township, according to a news release from the Michigan State Police.
At about 10 a.m., Wymer left his residence in a 2000 gray Chevy Suburban traveling northbound on M-20.
Wymer left his wallet, credit cards, cash, cell phone and his favorite knife at home. His vehicle had about 1/3 of a tank of gas with minimal spare change in it. It is unknown if there was more money inside the vehicle.
