The body of a missing Mecosta County man has been found.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Mt. Pleasant Post were sent to South Jeffs Road near Cadillac Road in Butterfield Township in Missaukee County Wednesday evening.
Upon arriving on the scene, it was determined that the vehicle belonged to Richard Wymer, 70, of Wheatland Township. Further investigation led to the identification of Wymer as the deceased male in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
The cause and manner of death are not being released at this time as the case is still under investigation.
More information from state police will be released as it becomes available.

REMUS Michigan State Police are looking for the public s help in locating Richard Lee Wymer, a 70 year-old Remus man who was last seen Sunday morning.
Wymer was last seen Sunday shoveling his driveway in the 7000 block of 10th Avenue in Wheatland Township, according to a news release from the Michigan State Police.
At about 10 a.m., Wymer left his residence in a 2000 gray Chevy Suburban traveling northbound on M-20.
Wymer left his wallet, credit cards, cash, cell phone and his favorite knife at home. His vehicle had about 1/3 of a tank of gas with minimal spare change in it. It is unknown if there was more money inside the vehicle.

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan On December 19, 2020 at 2:55 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to respond to a 4-year-old boy that had fallen through the ice on a pond at a home in Shepherd, Lincoln Township, Isabella County.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Mt. Pleasant Post arrived on scene within minutes of the incident to assist. The boy’s father was on scene trying to locate his son but was unable to do so.
The Isabella County Sheriff’s Dive Team entered the pond with assistance from the Shepherd Fire Department. After searching, the boy was located and rushed to Mid-Michigan Hospital in Alma by Mobile Medical Response. Hospital emergency room personnel worked tirelessly to save the boy.
