We have gotten up to 93 today. Its still 90 in allentown and reading, 93 in northeast philly and in trenton. We finally have some relief at the shore but part of that cooling around Atlantic City is from the nearby shower or thunderstorm. It feels like 95 in philadelphia. It reached about 97 during the day today. At least the way it felt. And its going to get a little rougher. We just had isolated showers and storms this afternoon, mainly right in Atlantic County and right along the white horse pike, and thats drifted toward the Atlantic City expressway and the black horse pike and some of that rainfall pretty heavy, one to two inches per hour. Storms for you but we are also talking about the heat. Heat wave in the forecast, too. Chief meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz has more on that extreme heat. Sheena, that extreme heat has just been busted by the showers and storms you have been showing but we do have an official heat wave now and its going to continue. The heat advisory, that has been discontinued because the temperature has gone down. This is what it looked like this morning. The temperatures in the 70s to near 80 degrees, but as we go through the day, you can see going up through the 80s and into the 90s. By this afternoon, we were seeing temperatures of 90 degrees and now the rain has really knocked things down. The heat continues, its barely 90 because of the thunderstorms today but it is going to go back up over the next couple of days and the thunderstorms will not be here.
