Lenore (Newell) Leavitt | News, Sports, Jobs - Adirondack Daily Enterprise

Dec 30, 2020 Lenore (Newell) Leavitt, age 100, of Gabriels, died December 27, 2020, at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid. Lenore was a lifelong resident of the area, born in Saranac Lake on May 5, 1920, and growing up in Keeses Mills with her parents, Harold and Pauline (Campbell) Newell and four younger brothers. Lenore married William Leavitt on Saturday, June 26, 1943, at the Keeses Mills Presbyterian Church. Upon marrying Bill she moved to the Leavitt Farm in Gabriels, where she lived until moving to Saranac Village at Will Rogers in 2015. In 1943, she joined the First United Methodist Church in Saranac Lake where she was an active member until her death. On May 5, 2020, the wonderful staff and leadership at Will Rogers helped her celebrate her 100th birthday, a goal and highlight of her life.

Appeal of Dunkin’ move to Unity’s downtown denied The Unity Planning Board of Appeals decided to deny the appeal 5-0, allowing Dunkin to move forward with plans for their new location. Share An appeal of a proposed move of Unity’s Dunkin’ to the town’s downtown district was unanimously denied 5-0 during a Unity Planning Board of Appeals hearing Monday night, allowing the coffee shop to go forward with its plan for the Main Street location. The Unity Planning Board of Appeals made its decision after a nearly two-hour interactive discussion via the online platform Cisco Webex with attorneys and the Planning Board. When going through each aspect of the appeal, the board made no comments.
