The board:
⢠âApproved the 2021-22 school calendar with first day for students Aug. 25 and last day May 27, 2022;
â¢âApproved Class of 2021 graduation for 6 p.m. May 26 at the high school football stadium;
â¢âAccepted the retirement resignation of high school teacher Michael Sikora effective June 1;
â¢âApproved a service contract with Clutch Solutions for the purchase of Chromebooks through use of ESSER II funds following the solicitation of sealed bids from an adequate number of qualified suppliers and selecting the lowest responsible bidder;
â¢âDiscussed plans for the Safe Routes to School project, which provides a safe walkway with sidewalks for students to get to and from school;

⢠Named Adams president and Newell as vice president;
⢠Will have former member Linda Silvidi continue as Hubbard’s representative to the Trumbull Career and Technical Center;
⢠Accepted donation of $16,500 from Greenwood’s Hubbard Chevrolet with $8,455 to the elementary principal’s fund to purchase a Chromebook cart and $8,045 to Hubbard athletics;
⢠Approved the appointment of Kevin Boyd to the Hubbard Public Library Board of Trustees, beginning April 1 and ending March 31, 2028;
⢠Announced the high school mock trial and middle school play will not take place this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. The adviser positions to the programs also were rescinded;

The board:
⢠Approved the re-appointment of John Clemente to a five-year term on the Hubbard park / recreation board effective Jan. 1;
⢠Were informed all school buses are receiving a thorough cleaning and that an older school bus was sold for scrap;
⢠Heard from Superintendent Ray Soloman the food services department in December distributed 495 lunch and breakfast bags to local families. He said the Hubbard schools holiday drive was held with staff getting toys and other items for local families;
⢠Set the organizational meeting for 6 p.m. Jan. 4.
