Mar 4, 2021 MUNCY – An elderly man faces misdemeanor charges for threatening to bring a gun to the Weis Market on East Penn Street in order to get the vaccine for COVID-19, state police alleged. William Cardennis, 82, of 179 Heatherbrooke Estates, was charged following the incident that occurred in the Muncy Creek Township supermarket about 5 p.m. on Feb. 22, police said. He has been charged with one count each of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct, police said. Cardennis approached a female employee in the store’s pharmacy and asked about how to get a vaccination shot for the virus. When the woman told him there were no more vaccines that day and that he would have to schedule an appointment online for a later date, he told her, “Well, I have a gun at home. If I brought it (to the store), would I get the vaccine? ‘Cause I’d do it,” according to an affidavit filed by Trooper Matthew Chamberlain.

Three arraigned on drug charges When the city police officer approached the 2020 Mazda that he stopped near Park Avenue and Grier Street about 6:20 p.m. Friday, the driver Justin Simmonds “was visibly shaking and taking quick shallow breaths,” according to an affidavit. The officer had already been told by a dispatcher that Simmonds and another person were in a Mazda and reportedly “transporting a large amount of methamphetamines to the 1200 block of Park,” very close to where the vehicle stop took place. While talking, Simmonds, 38, of Tampa Florida, also “stuttered in his speech, showing how nervous he was,” the officer wrote in the court document.

Woman sent summons on harassment charges Sara Greenaway, 23, of 2432 Vista Road, allegedly became irate and threw objects after two victims questioned her about substance abuse, according to state police. Greenaway allegedly took one of the victim’s phone halfway through the 911 call, and later chased that victim around her house, Trooper Kevin Bencsics said. Greenaway was sent a summons to appear before District Judge Gary Whiteman on a singular charge of harassment. From Pennlive WILLIAMSPORT The Williamsport area woman accused of using a hand tool to break windows in approximately 150 parked vehicles in three Lycoming County communities early on Dec. 24 will undergo a mental evaluation. Lycoming County Judge Marc F. Lovecchio ordered a 60-day evaluation for Marie Victoria LeCrone, 50, at Torrance State Hospital that specializes in mental health cases. State and Montoursville police have filed 93 criminal mischief and disorderly conduct charges against LeCrone for damage in Loyalsock Twp. and the borough. Williamsport police will be filing charges, Chief Damon R. Hagan said Wednesday. To date, nearly 60 victims have come forward, he said.
