Accidental death LOCK HAVEN A 57-year-old Lock Haven man sustained fatal injuries after falling down the embankment on the levee trail in Castanea Township, state police at Lamar said. Robert W. Benfield Sr. succumbed to head injuries at the scene on April 8 at 4:54 p.m., police said. The death was ruled accidental. Harassment LOCK HAVEN Melody McCoy Witherite, 42, of Mill Hall, was sent a summons after being charge with harassment by Woodward Township Police. Witherite allegedly sent another person 47 unwanted text messages, many of which contained lewd an obscene language, over a five-day period from April 7 to 9, police said. The summons was filed at District Judge Keith Kibler’s office.

Theft by deception HOWARD At 2:08 p.m. on April 3, a case of theft/crime by deception on 146 Primrose Lane in Liberty Township was investigated by State Police at Rockview. According to police, Phyleshia Seyler, 29, of Howard was scammed out of $2,400. She was allegedly contacted about purchasing a Siberian Huskie after making an inquiry on a web page. Seyler was instructed to purchase Visa gift cards and send photographs of the PIN for payment. The actor then allegedly never shipped a dog. Seyler realized it was scam and contacted police. Harassment BELLEFONTE At 6:30 p.m. on April 4, a case of harassment and physical contact on Egypt Hollow Road in Boggs Township, Centre County, was investigated by state police at Rockview.

BELLEFONTE A case of scattering rubbish was investigated by state police at Rockview. According to police, the incident took place along Sunset Drive sometime between Sept. 1, 2020 through March 25, 2021 along Sunset Drive in Marion Township, Centre County. The victim is a 68-year-old Howard female. The investigation continues. Two-vehicle crash BELLEFONTE State police at Rockview were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash that took place along Interstate 80 East on April 1. According to police, a 2014 Kenworth DS being driven by Hardwinder Singh, 41, of Galloway, Ohio, was traveling near milemarker 162 on I-80, when he lost control of his vehicle. He left the roadway, regained control and then overturned. The vehicle came to rest across both lanes of traffic, where it was struck by Lubeliza Herrick, 53, of Bridgewater, N.J. She was driving a 2019 Toyota Rav4.

No shots fired JERSEY SHORE No shots were actually fired in the 200 block of Wilson Street in Jersey Shore on April 2, according to Tiadagton Valley Regional Police, who responded to the scene at approximately 3:42 a.m. to the report of gun shots. Officers made contact with the occupants of the residence and determined that no shots were fired. The scene was cleared and officers were available at 4:38 a.m., police said. Two-vehicle crash BELLEFONTE A two-vehicle crash called state police at Rockview to the scene on March 30. According to police, a 2001 Dodge Intrepid being driven by Nathaniel Antonuccio, 18, of Julian, was traveling westbound along Runville Road in Boggs Township, Centre County. A 2018 Subaru XV Crosstrek being driven by Kimberly Fisher, 42, of Bellefonte was attempting to turn into her driveway at 662 Runville Road when she was struck from behind.

From CRIMEWATCH LOCK HAVEN Donald Lee Adams, Jr., 42, previously of Clinton County, was captured in the morning of March 5, 2021 in a cabin in the mountains of Kentucky. Adams was located and taken into custody by members of the Kentucky State Police and the U.S. Marshall’s Office. Officers breached the front door of the cabin and located Adams. At the time, officers report that Adams had so many guns that they referred to it as “an arsenal”. There is currently an investigation into the weapons that were located. It is also unclear at this time as to whom the cabin belongs.
