Man arraigned for summer 2019 possession charges
Logan Keiser, 26, of Milton, was allegedly caught trying to transport heroin from Williamsport to Milton to resell in the parking lot of the Montoursville Walmart July 25, 2019.
The Montoursville WalMart was evacuated Monday afternoon due to the smell of a gas leak.
UGI Utilities found two gas lines ruptured on the roof of the WalMart, according to Chad Ludwig, assistant fire chief at the Montoursville Fire Department.
Ludwig said the fire department helped UGI Utilities gain access to the roof to address the problem, and was called out to the scene at around 3:40 p.m.
They left at around 4:17 p.m., however they were called back to aid with accessing the second gas leak, according to Ludwig.
The fire department left the scene at 5 p.m.
After it was confirmed there was no fire hazard, Ludwig said UGI turned off the gas until the lines were repaired, which caused the store to temporarily halt its operations.
Deb Trate
Community Baptist Church, 1853 State Route 87, Montoursville, PA
Deb Trate’s watercolor painting of the Community Baptist Church, located at 1853 Route 87, is the winner of this year’s Sun-Gazette church painting contest.
Trate’s painting features a snowy front of the church an apt premonition, given last week’s wintry weather as well as several churchgoers entering the building.
To paint the picture she had in mind, Trate did not just settle for using her imagination. She camped out in front of the church and took pictures of the entrance to reference when creating the painting, then later painted snow in. But a picture of just the church’s building would not have been complete in her eyes.
