On Sunday, a review meeting was held at Karbi Hemtun, Taralangso, with all departmental heads. Emerging from the review meeting, chief executive member (CEM) of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang, informed that all CEMs of autonomous councils of Northeast and all former CEMs, EMs, MACs, DCs and SPs who served in Karbi Anglong district, will be invited. Our Correspondent Diphu, Oct. 16 (EMN): Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang, on Sunday laid the foundation stone for development of Diphu Town Lake. The lake will be beautified and recreational infrastructure developed under the package of memorandum of settlement (MoS) by the United People’s Democratic Society (UPDS) in 2011 at an estimated cost of INR 11.99 crore. Among others, the event was attended by Bidyasing Engleng, MLA; chairman of KAAC, Raju Tisso; executive member, Education, Richard Tokbi and chairman of Diphu Municipal Board, Rah Kro.
Our Correspondent Diphu, Oct. 5 (EMN): The Diphu Municipal Board (DMB) has been awarded Swachh City Award-2022 for achieving the tag of fast-moving city in the Northeast zone population category between 5, 00,000 to 10,00,000 from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi on October 1. The award was handed over by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu; Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Sing Puri and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Kaushal Kishore. The award was received by the DMC team led by Chairman Rah Kro; DMC executive engineer, Nippun Charan Dutta; Pradip Rongpi assistant executive engineer; and Ward Commissioner Sagar Chetry.
