On 08/12/22, at 1:44 AM, Fairfield Police responded to 112 Highland Avenue, Fairfield on a Domestic Battery complaint. The investigation resulted in Jason R Pfaff, 39 of Fairfield, being arrested for battering his wife Misty L Paff, 44 of Fairfield. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail and lodged pending a bond hearing on a charge of Domestic Battery. Misty refused medical treatment. On 08/12/22, at 12:25 AM, Fairfield Police discovered an unresponsive male in a vehicle on the Methodist Church parking lot at 100 W Main Street, Fairfield. The investigation identified the driver as Hunter W White, 22 of Bluford, IL. After indications of possible impairment, White submitted to Field Sobriety Exercises and was determined to be under the influence. He was placed under arrest for being in physical control of a vehicle while Under the Influence (DUI) and transported to the Wayne County Jail where he provided a breath sample that indicated a Blood Alcohol of .091. The Illinois Eastern Community College Board of Trustees met Tuesday night at Lincoln Trail College. The board approved a $125,000 bid from Overturf Electric for the installation of a solar array at Frontier Community College, and it adopted a new temporary policy to address employee absences due to COVID-19. The current sick leave policy will expire May 16th. Trustees also approved the employment of Derek Dunn as Educational Technology Specialist for the Title III Program at FCC, effective Monday. Dunn's final day at WFIW/WOKZ will be tomorrow. The Albion City Council met in special session last night. It voted to proceed with studies to construct a water filtration plant in the Grayville area, possibly as a partnership with Grayville, due to EPA violations on the level of manganese in the water supply.
