A fresh spell of rain that lashed Delhi and parts of Northern India Saturday and Sunday morning has further exacerbated Delhi’s flood crisis. Visuals recorded Sunday showed key areas Mukherjee Nagar, Yamuna Bazar, Hakikat Nagar and Jaitpur, Mayur Vihar still submerged due to water logging.
The ruling Aam Admi Party (AAP) in Delhi blamed the Indian government and neighbouring states of conspiracy over the current flood crisis but BJP national spokesperson, RP Singh, accused the AAP of diverting attention from their failure to rectify the situation. Singh claimed the current crisis occurred due to unsatisfactory Yamuna cleaning efforts by AAP.
