Easy morning. Lets start with a live look at our bridges. Starting with the san mateo bridges morning. Everything looks pretty darn good. In fact a little bit later than usual. Not sure why, but i guess everyone decides theyre going to work from home on tuesday. In the meantime you have some company but never in a break like that all. In the eastbound direction everything seems to be moving right along. Not a single problem there. Onto the bay bridge for the metering lights are not yet on. They should be on here in the next 20 minutes or so. In the meantime we are starting to see added volume at the toll plaza and certainly those cash lanes are backed up but also the fasttrack lanes are a little bit slow as well. Went to through the toll plaza you are back up to a regular running speed and smooth sailing into the city. We have one issue at southbound 680 before vargas road. It sounds like it was not a crash, it was a vehicle that somehow caught fire and that is off on the shoulder right now. As far as i understand, thats what chp is saying. No lanes are blocked but everyone is slowing down to take a look at that. The backup has reached state road 84, so youre not at a complete standstill but plan on anywhere from eight to ten minutes added to your commute. In two years, the city has seen a 17 increase in people without reliable housing. A new controversial homeless shelter is supposed to go up along the embarcadero. Committed a deadly offense. Or a serious felony. Police say the contact happened rapidly and did not allow for an opportunity for dialogue. They say four of the officers had received crisis intervention training within the last year. Hall family attorneys are questioning that. And they didnt act like it here. So that raises a lot of questions, Big Questions about what the policies are at the department, what the actual training is, and when people violate those policies and training, is anyone held accountable. Reporter attorneys are also questioning why none of the officers is used their tasers. Police say one of the officers at the scene had her taser deployed but did not utilize it. But he woke with up like around 2 30 or something and he went to her work to find her because she always comes back home. Reporter jesus father saw paul avenue blocked off. Police informed him a crash involving multiple cars had claimed the lives of two people. The family identified jesus mother as one of the deceased. They showed us a picture and gave us her bag and thats all. Reporter the dark colored corolla she was in badly mangled, air bags deployed. The corolla was driving east on paul avenue when it was struck pushed into the middle of the intersection. The silver car also had major damaged. Someone was speeding and they crashed the car from lyft and th the lyft driver died immediately. Reporter enriques was a member of her church for seven years located at the corner where the crash occurred. The church has seen its share of accidents.
