Police informed him a crash involving multiple cars had claimed the lives of two people. The family identified jesus mother as one of the deceased. They showed us a picture and gave us her bag and thats all. Reporter the dark colored corolla she was in badly mangled, air bags deployed. The corolla was driving east on paul avenue when it was struck pushed into the middle of the intersection. The silver car also had major damaged. Someone was speeding and they crashed the car from lyft and th the lyft driver died immediately. Reporter enriques was a member of her church for seven years located at the corner where the crash occurred. The church has seen its share of accidents. There was a crash over there, over here in the church. That was a few months ago. Reporter her son has a message to the driver if speeding was a factor. When people drive, they should always care about others, too. They dont care about anybody else. They should because those people have families. Tonight lyft sent us a statement that reads, we are deeply saddened by this tragic acof life. Our thoughts are with the victims family and friends during this difficult time. The company said it reached out to the riders family to offer support. Police have not told us a sad s thank you. Two people were shot and wounded tonight by a suspect who police say is still barricaded inside a home in san jose. The shooting happened about 8 30 tonight in the 500 block of habits court in san jose. When officers got there, two adults came out of the home. Each had been shot once. Those victims were transported to a hospital. Right now officers are trying to make contact with that suspect and figure out if anyone else is inside the home. A fire ripped through a supply yard right next to a pittsburg Roofing Supply Company today sending a huge plume of black smoke into the air and sending one at a homele encampment around 2 40 this afternoon. We have live coverage from ktvus Monte Francis on the scene in pittsburg. Reporter fire crews spent much of the evening monitoring the fire looking for potential flareups. You can see behind me a couple flatbed trailers damaged in the fire. Investigators say the fire started in a homeless encampment just north of the yard. As flames ripped through a yard full of plastic piping, a huge plume of black smoke went up into the air from pittsburg. You could see it for miles. It slowed traffic on highway 4 and drivers pulled out their cell phones. This man saw the smoke from antioch and came to the scene to see it up close. Best way to describe it, like a volcano when it goes off, how thick the thick, heavy, black rolling smoke. Responded to the fire at elit roofing supply on piedmont way at 2 30 in the afternoon. 70 to 80 firefighters kept the flames from spreading to the adjacent business while highway 4 acted as a barrier keeping the fire from spreading north. We had our bulldozer out here cutting fire breaks to insure we didnt get fire in the grass coming this direction. Reporter one firefighter was taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported. Officials say the fire started here in whats left of this homeless encampment and quickly spread to the nearby yard leased by a Company Called baker tanks. This highlights a particular problem for us this time of year with the high fire dangers were experiencing now and will through the fall certainly. Police say that boy lives in a motor home at Union Point Park right off embarcadero. The boy was playing outside with another child when he was shot in the hand. No one else was injured. Police are still investigating the circumstances here and they havent said who had the gun or determined if the shooting was accidental. Accidental. I seen him ride his bike through here. He seemed like a good kid. So, you know, its kind of messed up, but have increased patrols at that park. They did so today, but they havent said how long they will have those stepped up patrols in place. As for the 7yearold boy, police say that he is in stable condition. Sacramento Police OfficerTara Osullivan was remembered tonight at her alma mater just days after she was killed in the line of duty. Today a marathon was held marking one year since those boys became trapped and were eventually rescued. The boys and their coach entered the cave on june 3rd, 2018, and the cave became flooded trapping them inside. Divers found the team 10 days later and successfully rescued everyone. Several of the boys and some of the divers who rescued them were reunited at todays marathon. Marathon.
