A spokesperson says the Board of Commissioners sets a hearing date of April 13th to discuss the removal of County Treasurer Brian Zuger, who has 20 days to respond to the formal notice.
If he does, he can appear at the hearing to present evidence in his defense.
The board will vote on his removal at the end of the hearing, which is set for 9 a.m.
Zuger is accused of mismanaging 12 million dollars in public funds.

The Sarpy County Commission is moving forward with legal action to remove County Treasurer Brian Zuger from office. The commission s vote comes after the Nebraska State Auditor released a report that identified numerous issues in the Sarpy County Treasurer s Office that impacted more than 12-point-five-million-dollars in public funds. According to the report, some districts were either overpaid or underpaid in property tax disbursements.
