As we mourn the loss of congressman john lewis of georgia, a hero to some any of the, a champion for equality, we must, too remember the sacrifice and legacy he and Many Americans made in fighting for our rights and freedom. When discussing the removal of confederate monuments, congressman lewis described these efforts as the beginning of the movement that would help us move toward the realization that we are one people, one nation, and we have to be. Ensitive to our own history just this week, we in the house of representatives are honoring this movement in the nations capitol by voting on historic legislation that will remove the defenders of the horrific system of slavery, segregation, and racism from the u. Im alyana gomez. The childs body was found inside a home on darek drive in santa rosa. What we are now learning about the investigation. Reporter the child and adult were found right here inside this home on darek drive just before 1 00 this afternoon. Tonight, investigators are still trying to piece together exactly what happened. The pain and anguish was clearly visible as these women consoled each other outside the home on darek drive. Police say a woman went to the home saturday afternoon to check on the occupants and discovered the man and child. Medical personnel were on the scene and immediately began performing lifesaving efforts but unfortunately, the child ended up passing away from injuries. Reporter police say the 13 monthold boy was found next to an unconscious 29yearold male oneill. There are no signs of serious physical trauma to the child.
