Greenwater RCMP responded to a plane crash 9 kilometres west and 6 kilometres north of Archerwill on Saturday morning (Jan. 9).
Archerwill Fire Department, Naicam and Rose Valley EMS and STARS Air Ambulance were also at the scene.
RCMP say two occupants of the plane were trapped inside but emergency crews managed to pull them out safely.
The two men, ages 58 and 52, were take to hospital with what’s being described as serious injuries.
RCMP say extreme fog and frost were present at the time of takeoff. Nothing criminal is being considered in this investigation at this time.

A temporary service disruption to note in Melville.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority says ER services at St. Peter’s Hospital will be unavailable from 8 a.m. tomorrow (Tues) until Wednesday at 8 a.m.
Inpatient and and lab services will not be affected by the temporary disruption.
In an email, a spokesperson with the SHA cited recent physician vacancies as the reason, but mentioned recruitment efforts are underway to fill those vacancies.
ER services are available at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, St. Anthony’s Hospital in Esterhazy, All Nations Healing Hospital in Fort Qu’Appelle and the Southeast Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin.

It’s expected the clinical trial for the VIDO’s COVID-19 vaccine will begin in the next week in Halifax.
The University of Saskatchewan’s Vaccine and Infections Disease Organization was given the green light for clinical trials just before Christmas.
Director and CEO, Dr. Volker Gerdts, says there is a site initiation visit today (Mon) and paperwork is being finalized.
Phase 1 will include 108 volunteers with the first being in the 18 to 54 age group, then moving to 55 to 69 year olds, followed by those 70 and older.
The testing includes 11 visits to see how the volunteers are doing and to check for any unwanted reactions.

Another court appearance has been made for a former Yorkton man, charged in connection with a massive drug bust in the city.
In October of 2019, police executed a search warrant at a home, and seized 155 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, with an estimated street value of 16-thousand dollars.
30-year-old Jesse Melnyk was charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Theft.
In Yorkton Provincial Court today (Mon), his matters were adjourned to April 5th.
