Twin Cedars sweeps Murray Tuesday night in dominant fashion

The Sabers had a fantastic day on the diamonds as the baseball team collected their second shutout of the season, defeating Murray 12-0. The 11th ranked softball team took down Murray by a final of 15-4. Both games ended after five innings. Nathan Smith got the start on the bump for Twin Cedars and dominated the Mustang bats as he pitched 3 no-hit innings with seven strikeouts. Smith helped his own cause in the game as he went 2-3 with two RBI’s. Mason Sanders came on in relief and struck out 3 while allowing no runs in two innings of work. Kade Dunkin along with Smith led the offense with a 2-3 day at the plate.

Twin Cedars Girls Had Memorable Final Home Game

The Twin Cedars Girls basketball Squad made significant improvements this season. The Sabers, for starters, more than doubled their win total from a year ago, from five last season to 11 this year, and for a few games was above the .500 mark this season. While their season did not end how the Sabers would have liked, the final regular season game will go down as the game, if not the finish of the year. With time winding down, the Sabers trailed by five points and Coach Trent Verwers witnessed the comeback of the season. Verwers: “I told the girl in that time out, we need to get aggressive and if you foul so be it. Kisha Reed got the deflection and Brooke Roby got the game winning layup. It was one of those moments that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives and it was a great way to send the seniors out in their last home game.”
