New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), on Thursday, claimed that it has managed to attract the traditional voter of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), as was displayed during the civic body by-polls on Wednesday. Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the inability to win even a single seat in the by-polls was a setback for the BJP and added that the party s vote share decreased in all the wards, the elections for which were held on February 28.

New Delhi, March 3 : After losing the ground in the recent Gujarat local body and municipal corporation elections, the Congress found a ray of hope with its victory in one of the five seats in the MCD bypolls as results were declared earlier on Wednesday, boosting the party to prepare its strategy for the election on all 272 wards next year.
The AAP put on a good show in the five bye-elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Wednesday, winning four seats including Kalyanpuri, Rohini-C, Shalimar Bagh (North), and Trilokpuri. The Congress won the Chauhan Banger ward. In the last polls, AAP had won four seats while one seat was held by the BJP.

New Delhi: A year ahead of the MCD elections in Delhi, the BJP on Wednesday suffered a setback as it failed to win even a single seat in the municipal by-elections held for five constituencies on Sunday. The votes were counted on Wednesday and the Aam Aadmi Party, which runs the government in the national capital, won four of the total five seats that went to the polls. The opposition Congress won one seat.

New Delhi [India], March 3 (ANI): The counting of votes for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) by-polls began on Wednesday morning and as per early trends, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates are leading in four wards Shalimar Bagh North, Kalyanpuri, Trilokpuri and Rohini- C. The Congress candidate is leading in Chauhan Bangar.
As per the trends at 9:45 am, AAP is leading by 6,227 votes in Kalyanpuri ward (after 7 rounds), by 3,791 votes in Trilokpuri ward (after 6 rounds), by 1,759 votes in Shalimar Bagh North ward (after 6 rounds) and by 2,157 votes in Rohini C ward (after 8 rounds)
