it is 6:00 and a gorgeous start to the week s end and weekend. i marty in the weather center. how the day is squaring away. a pretty good amount of sunshine. early on mix of clouds and sun. sunny this afternoon. a tad bit more humid than the past couple of days. 76 at lunch going for high of 79 this day. what a great evening this is going to be. look that the. relatively clear skies. 7. degrees. 12 hours now at dinnertime. take it away. about to jump into the hurry-up, sharon with wjz traffic control. not much to slow you down this morning if you have to head to work. one issue which is a minor one and has been there since yesterday. a sinkhole that is actually blocking the southbound inner loop ramp from camp meade road to the inner loop of the beltway. do watch for that. the speed on the southwest side of the beltway above the posted speed limit. same goes for speed limits all around the beltway. no issues as far as speed goes. a look at 83 at the beltway. no issues t

to those places. reporter: county councilman darryl jones is placing cameras at malls such as anne arundel mills and large big box shopping centers would help deter crime. so far this year eight people have been robbed in the parking lots at anne arundel mills, and with slots cameras would be a necessity. anne arundel mills is the site, security and cameras would be an issue. reporter: there are some stores in the county that do have cameras outside there. the giant has cameras there. but most of the stores on this end don t have anything. but they also have to remember that the cameras in front of the giant are more about loss prevention, and won t protect you if you get up in the parking lot. and for a lot of shoppers, cameras would definitely make them feel a bit more at s. fireworks you re in a public place, you re doing public things. so i don t feel like that it s invading my privacy. if it were my house, it s another thing. but being out here in a public place, i

paca elementary. brittney gordon is on the scene, and she will be bringing us a live report right now. brittney? reporter: hey, marybeth. we re out here at william paca elementary school, where in just the last hour police found their man. they found him in a cabinet beneath a sink at the school. apparently he has been there all day long. this was not an average day of summer learning for students as their teachers walked them away from their school to safety. reports of a police drug suspect at their school sent parents running. i just threw the phone down, and i think i turned it off. i don t know. i got to go get my baby. i couldn t find my keys so i walked over. i was going nuts, banging on my neighbor s door telling her to come get her kids. that s it. reporter: this all began just before 10 a.m. police officers had responded to a call for drug dealing in the 100 block of lakewood. while questioning their suspect, they found out he had a warrant for a probation v

light rail train hit them. but the train never stopped. and the parents of these teens want to know why. from what we ve heard, from one of the witnesses that was on the train, the conductor pulled up about 300 to 400 feet, stopped and looked under, said, oh, it s nothing. and then took off. and then another train hit him. hit him again. reporter: the mta says a video camera on board the train showed them walking north on the southbound tracks. but that track was being used for trains in both directions at the time. the agencies believe the boys may not have known that when they were hit at the time. why couldn t the conductor have seen them? i want closure. i really do. these are my babies. reporter: the family questioned the mta s ability to lead this investigation. because of that, the agency agreed to allow baltimore county police to take it over yesterday. there s been something wrong with this whole thing from the beginning. reporter: the mta says th
