rick: hi, everybody. breaking news of chicago where senator roland burris is set to make what his staff has billed as a major announcement. the controversial senator will not run for reelection to keep his seat in the year 2010. we re waiting for that event to begin any moment. as soon as it does, we will take you back to chicago. but first, the back story. we have to start with rod blagojevich, of course. after senator obama left his senate seat for the oval office, blagojevich was arrested, accused of trying to sell the open position to the highest bidder. while blagojevich was still being investigated before impeachment, he appointed roland burris, a longtime illinois and opposite politician, to take the senate seat. it was initially resisted by harry reid and other democrats but eventually went through after a face-saving series of news conferences. not long after that, burris himself made inconsistent statements about his contacts with blagojevich s people. eventually,
