TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Florida State (9-3) was all business with 17 hits in a 10-1 midweek win over Bethune-Cookman (8-5) on Tuesday evening at Dick Howser Stadium. Ryan Denison (1-1) earned his first career win, coming in relief for 2.0 innings while James Tibbs III and Cam Smith each hit a home run and accounted for half of the runs on the night.
Tibbs III had 15 hits coming into the game and continued his superb offensive performance, drawing two walks to start before doubling into right to score a run then crushing a 2-2 pitch into deep center. Smith had a homer in his first plate appearance for the game’s first run and later hit a single to push his hit count to 14, leading the Seminole freshmen.

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Catcher Colton Vincent tied a career-high with three hits and had four RBI, while Wyatt Crowell pitched 5.2 innings in relief as Florida State (8-3) beat FGCU (10-2) 14-8 Sunday at Dick Howser Stadium.
Crowell’s 5.2 innings were a career high, and his seven strikeouts also tied a career best. Doug Kirkland allowed one inherited runner to score in the ninth inning.
Vincent increased his hitting streak to 15 games, the longest for a Seminole since 2018. He was 3-for-3 with four RBI, the final three of which came on a bases-clearing double in the eighth inning and capped the Seminole scoring. During his hitting streak, Vincent is hitting 22-for-53 and he leads FSU with a .421 batting average this season.

James Tibbs III hit a two-run home run for the second straight game, but baserunning and defensive miscues cost the Seminoles. After taking an early 2-0 lead in the first inning on Tibbs’ 13th career home run, the Eagles scored seven runs over the next two frames, including three unearned on a defensive error in the second. Jackson Baumeister (1-1) was tagged with the loss, allowing six runs on five hits in 2.1 innings. FGCU pushed its lead to 8-2 after five innings before the Noles mounted its comeback bid in the sixth. FSU plated five runs against the Eagles’ bullpen and had runners on second and third with no outs, but a double play nabbed the lead runner at the plate and a fly out ended the inning. FORT WORTH, Texas – Florida State dropped its first game of 2023, falling 3-2 at Lupton Stadium against No. 8 TCU Sunday afternoon. The Seminoles had clinched the series Saturday after scoring 10 runs each of the first two games vs. the Horned Frogs. FSU scored two runs in the first inning on a James Tibbs III single, followed by a hit by pitch and three walks. The Noles were held to two hits in the contest. TCU got a run in the fourth inning against Carson Montgomery, but the Seminoles got out of trouble in the fifth and sixth inning with inning-ending double plays. FSU had the chance to avoid trouble in the seventh as well, but TCU tied the game with a one-out RBI single and took the lead on a botched double play. FORT WORTH, Texas – The Florida State bats stayed hot Saturday, mashing 13 hits and 10 more runs to beat No. 8 TCU, 10-8, for the second consecutive game to clinch the series. Jaime Ferrer hit a pair of home runs and led FSU with three hits and four RBI, while Andrew Armstrong earned his first career save with 2.0 innings of one-run baseball.
Ferrer continued his torrid streak against the Horned Frogs and is hitting 6-for-10 with two doubles, a triple, two home runs, six runs scored and six RBI in two games against TCU. The sophomore hit a pair of two-run home runs Saturday, the first Seminole since 2021 with a multi-home run game.
