CHAPEL HILL – After rallying back from a four-run deficit in the first inning – and leading in the ninth – Florida State (32-20, 15-13 ACC) lost 7-5 to North Carolina (32-19, 13-15) on a walk-off three home run from Alberto Osuna. It was Osuna’s second three-run home run of the game. North Carolina led 4-0 after the first inning, scoring all three runs against FSU starter Carson Montgomery. Montgomery, Conner Whittaker and Wyatt Crowell (5-1) combined to keep the Tar Heels off the board for seven innings until Osuna’s ninth-inning home run. FSU slowly clawed back into the game before taking the lead in the eighth inning. Jaime Ferrer doubled in the fourth inning and scored on James Tibbs’ single. Logan Lacey’s solo home run later that inning made the lead 4-2 UNC. In the sixth, Ferrer hit his eighth home run of the season, over the scoreboard in left field. TALLAHASSEE – Sophomore Ross Dunn made his second relief appearance of the season, allowing just one run in 5.0 innings to earn the win in No. 21 Florida State’s 6-4 victory over No. 6 Miami. Sunday was the regular-season finale at Dick Howser Stadium for the Seminoles (32-18, 15-12 ACC) and the sixth in seven games over Miami (37-14, 18-9) under head coach Mike Martin Jr.
Dunn (2-4) surrendered just three hits and struck out six batters, facing one batter over the minimum. Davis Hare earned his third save of the season, striking out all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.
The Seminoles improved to 10-3 in weekend series on the season, 26-8 at Dick Howser Stadium and 9-1 in the past 10 games against Top 25 opponents.

This weekend is a pivotal series as
BRIGHTON, MASS. – Florida State (27-17, 12-11 ACC) evened the series at Boston College (19-29, 5-21) Saturday afternoon, winning a back-and-forth affair 10-4 at Harrington Village Athletics Park. Alex Toral, Brett Roberts and Jaime Ferrer each had three RBI for the Seminoles, and Wyatt Crowell pitched four scoreless innings for his fifth win of the year.
Roberts hit a solo home run – his fifth of the season – and had a two-run single in the seventh, both of which gave the Seminoles a lead. Toral had an RBI single in the second inning and hit a 440-foot home run in the seventh, his team-best 13th of the year. Ferrer tied the game with an RBI single in the fifth inning and plated two more on a single in the eighth.
Roberts’ three RBI and Toral’s three hits tied their season highs. Ferrer leads FSU with 52 hits on the season.
