Of course mike is keeping his eyes on the road. Lets start with the forecast for today. And this morning a very foggy start. Yes, we are seeing that in the south bay as well as other parts of the bay area as we wake up, take a look at our live camera in san jose. Its foggy and its chilly so we are going to see that for the next couple of hours and then turning very mild as we go into the afternoon with some sunshine. Taking a look at our breezy winds picking up for tomorrow. We are going to stay dry in the forecast as we start out with some cold temperatures and the fog this morning. We do have concern of freezing fog. Well talk more about that cong up in just a few minutes. Mike, how is it looking right now for the commute . Kari, the fog is the topic of one of the chp reports. Middle peak is doing 30 miles an hour. And then as you look at the elevation spots, rose peak, down by san jose, 26 miles an hire. So the winds have died down. This wet suspect is good news for fire danger around Northern California. There is also concern about the areas burned recently by wildfires. Also stay the same, as well. 41 counties in california are now in the most restrictive purple tier. The vast majority of our students are still in Distance Learning right now. Reporter under the purple tier, any class that resumed in person as of tuesday can continue, but for the majority of California School districts still doing Distance Learning be reopening plans are now on hold, until conditions improve or the school gets a waiver. Primarily this has the largest impact on districts that were putting their plans in place for a return in 2021. Reporter margaret represents 77 teachers from a School District in Contra Costa County, which is doing Distance Learning, but was consider league opening january 22nd. Thats not gonna happen. Reporter the Teachers Union president said the next opportunity to make a decision is in march, and she plans to push for not reopening at all this school year. San Francisco Police said they responded to a physical fight between several men on market between fourth and fifth streets at 5 09 tuesday evening. It happened in front of the timberland store and walgreens. One of them and had a nice. We know that the male suspect was brandishing a knife. As to the steps and the time frames of what occurred here, they are all under investigation. Reporter police said the man was struck by gunfire, but did not say how many officers fired their guns. They also say an officer fired a beanbag shotgun and a sheriffs deputy used a taser. Police are not saying in what order the weapons were deployed. The man was taken to San Francisco general hospital. We are reviewing cameras, eyewitness statements, as well as any Video Surveillance that caught the incident. Reporter a hospital spokesman tells me the man is in critical condition. That blew through yesterday and today . Yeah, that is right, mike and gasia. Some neighborhoods picking up over two inches of rain, specially for the Higher Elevations. This was a productive storm, thankfully were not talking about flash flood warnings, nothing extreme in terms of advisories or warnings. Still, a beneficial rainfall in terms of water supply to start things off and fire danger. Take a look at some of the bigger rainfall totals. Well call them the jumbo rainfall totals.
